FAQs on Passport Services at Bangalore One
1. How will the integration of passport services with the
Bangalore one project work to the benefit of the public in Bangalore?
Residents of Bangalore already benefit from the 18 hi-tech
citizen service centres in various parts of the city, which provide various
services relating to BMP, BESCOM, BSNL, BWSSB, police, RTO, stamps and
registration etc., all under one roof. A new service – namely the acceptance of
passport applications – is also being added to the bouquet of services being
provided by these centres. The public will now be able to submit applications
for a passport at any of All centres viz., Airport Road, Banashankari, HBR
Layout, J.P. Nagar, Jayanagar, Kalasipalayam, Malleswaram, Nagarabhavi, R T
Nagar, Rajajinagar, Shantinagar, Tannery Road,Indiranagar, Koramangala, MS
Building, Vijayanagar and Yeshwantpure which are located in several parts
of the city, reducing the need to travel long distances from one part of the
city to another. Though these centres work on a 24 x 7 basis, the
passport-seeking public can avail these services only between 9.00 am to 7.00
pm.Consequent to the diversion of applicants for fresh /renewal passports
to Bangalore one centres, the crowding at the Passport Office premises has
reduced substantially. It must, however, be noted that applications will be
accepted only from the applicants themselves, or from duly authorized persons
acceptable under the guidelines issued by the Regional Passport Office,

will be transferred to the Passport Office electronically, so that they can be
directly read into the system at the Passport Office. The papers relating to
police verification will also be sent directly to the concerned police
authorities, by these centres. The applications will thereafter be physically
sent to RPO Bangalore for further processing, as per precise time-lines agreed
